SCIENCE RESEARCH CENTER
Social Condenser IncubatorJordan University of Science & Technology
The project investigates advanced building design in an integrative theme of building systems and components. By analyzing the Pompidou center and Sainsbury center for visual arts as precedents, the idea emerged of creating building as a smart living machine that is sustainable, adaptable, responsive and interactive with users and its setting. As the project was located within the university campus. it’s main objective was to provide maximum interaction between students, researchers and the local community (By providing public galleries and exhibitions, workshops, etc...) that are concentrated along the main spine of the project that is a three dimensional extension of the main axis route that students pass by when they move from the southern engineering colleges to the northern science and medical colleges. Thus moving away from the traditional introverted lab typologies. There was three main components developed: the main spine (public students, by passers, researchers), the second looped circulation passing through galleries. Simultaneously exposing the research zones as displays. In addition to the linear circulation for supportive functions.
